Nearly anything you can possibly imagine with a Cowboys logo, you’ll likely be able to find when shopping at the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop inside the new Cowboys Stadium. At 18,000 square feet of retail space on two levels of the stadium, this is shopping nirvana for Cowboys fans. I’ve already done my Father’s Day shopping here and know I’ll return for birthday and Christmas gifts (not to mention gearing-up for the start of the new season)
The new Pro Shop is open 7 days a week, Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm and Sundays 11am to 5pm. Hours may vary on game days and parking, which is normally free, may cost you if there’s an event scheduled at the stadium. Park in the lot at Gate 1 which is accessible off Randol Mill Road, ½ block east of Collins (across the street from the WalMart). Walk into the stadium’s entrance at Gate 1, and the Pro Shop will be on your left side.
This new Pro Shop runs circles around the old Pro Shop in the Corral at Texas Stadium. First of all, it’s so much bigger. Secondly, it’s as nice as a department store. Displays are well laid-out and sections are easy to find. The front left corner is all the t-shirts. The right front corner is filled jerseys. The middle entry has the new Cowboys Stadium merchandise including shirts that boast “Ours Is Bigger” (a reference to the size of the largest NFL stadium, of course) and “The Ultimate Upgrade”.
As for the section with the jerseys, I love the larger selection of jerseys of former players including not only Staubach and Dorsett and Randy White and Aikman and Emmitt, but replica jerseys for Don Meredith and Chuck Howley and Walt Garrison and Jay Novacek…even Calvin Hill! Most of the replicas of former players run about $80. Current players are obviously well-represented. A replica starts at around $65. The authentics are about $200.
Beyond the jerseys is a whole section just for ball caps. I counted over 20 different styles (that was just adult sizes, not kids).
Speaking of kids, the colorful children’s section is decorated with fun artwork on the walls. Sure, there’s tons of kids apparel for both the team and the Cowboys Cheerleaders, but there are also games like Cowboys’ Mr. Potato Head and stuffed animal monkeys (the kind that you Velcro their hands together and they “hang around”) in either blue/silver or pink for $14.99. There’s tons of pink in this Pro Shop, including the women’s section.
And when it comes to the women’s section, I don’t know how we’ve made it all these years without Cowboys logo thong underwear (only $9.99). I’ve gotta buy a pair (or NOT!) to wear under the tank tees and mini-shorts which are $19.99 each.
Or maybe I’ll take the $19.99 to buy a Cowboys logo bikini. Oh, but that’s just one piece. Gotta spend another $19.99 for the top (or bottom)! But seriously, very few of us look good in a bikini, so maybe we should stick with the one-piece bathing suit ($40). And don’t forget the Cowboys beach towel!
Yes, there’s also a selection of bathing suits for men, too…at least three selection of trunks. Honestly, most of the men’s section is Cowboys logo golf shirts. But there’s also golf pants and a Cowboys logo golf bag. I was impressed with the selection of Cowboys logo watches (both men’s & ladies, including Fossil watches).
There’s a cool display for tailgating items, complete with the tailgates from Ford trucks (including illuminated tail lights). There’s even a section (not too large, but a big book shelf) filled with books and DVD’s about the Cowboys.
If you’re a Cowboys fan, you have to check out the new Pro Shop. And with Stadium Tours beginning June 26th, you can kill two birds with stone on your next trip to Arlington by taking the stadium tour and shopping the new Pro Shop. If you’re a baseball fan, too, be sure to check out the Rangers baseball merchandise/memorabilia at the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Shop at Rangers Ballpark which is literally a few blocks down the street on Randol Mill Road, just east of Cowboys Stadium.
