This isn’t your father’s bowling alley. I’m betting your dad’s bowling alley didn’t serve sushi, lump crab, or goat cheese al forno. This isn’t just a bowling alley, period. Splitsville is a cool, upscale, hip-yet-retro restaurant that happens to have something fun going for it: bowling, dancing and billiards.
I love Splitsville’s slogan: “America’s Original Bowling Parlor, where stale nachos, tacky carpeting and retro shoes are a thing of the past”. They’re not kidding. “Out” are the stale nachos; “in” is the Tuna Tataki or the Crunchy Ahi Poke.
And while families are welcome before 8pm, this is not a place for kids in the evenings. Splitsville allows only patrons 21 and older after 8pm, seven days a week. Prior to 8pm, patrons under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Splitsville features 13 bowling lanes. The lanes are in the middle of the restaurant, so lots of people can see you roll a strike (or a gutter ball). There are four bars, plasma TVs, and a gourmet menu. There’s also a patio. Come for the “Party on the Patio” on Thursday night with a live band from 6-9pm. On Monday thru Thursday, the Patio features Buckets of Beer for $10 (domestic) from 4 to 11pm.
There’s a special “2 for 2 Tuesdays” featuring $2 bowling and $2 shoe rentals. On Mondays thru Fridays from 4-7pm, there are $5 sushi roll specials (chef’s choice) and ½ off specialty martinis. From 9-11pm on Monday thru Friday, there are specials for $5 pizzas (chef’s choice) and sushi rolls (chef’s choice).
Splitsville also hosts private parties, whether it’s a birthday party, office team-building, corporate events, or charity fundraisers. Go on-line or call 817 465 2695 to talk to the restaurants social directors about planning private party packages and reserving lanes and a party room.
